Monday Night Insight Week 7 - 2021 Fantasy Football

New Orleans Saints vs. Seattle Seahawks

Saints Fantasy Insight

Jameis Winston is an intriguing start against the Seahawks in Week 7. I'd prefer him on my bench in 1QB leagues, but would look to plug him into my lineups if your league is a Superflex format. The Seahawks’ defense hasn't been very good against the passing game, so this could be a boom game for Winston.

Alvin Kamara is the RB12 in PPG in fantasy so far this season. He's a must start RB1 against a very weak Seattle run defense. There aren't any other running backs from this Saints team I'd be willing to play this week.

Marquez Calloway and Deonte Harris are the two fantasy relevant wide receivers in this offense. Harris may not play this week with a hamstring injury, which would make Calloway a must start WR3 option. If he does play, they both become dart-throw, touchdown-dependent flex plays. Juwan Johnson and Adam Trautman are the tight ends who are also touchdown dependent options. I'd prefer playing Johnson over Trautman if I had to choose between the two.

With kicker Will Lutz on IR, Brian Johnson should remain on your waiver wire. The Saints D/ST is ranked 4th and should continue to be a start against a Geno Smith-led Seahawks team.

Seahawks Fantasy Insight

Geno Smith is only startable in Superflex formats if you have no other second quarterback option to choose from. Other than that, he should remain on your bench or waivers.

Alex Collins is a low-end flex player considering he doesn't get the passing work needed to be a reliable fantasy producer. His rushing ability brings upside for a safe floor, but for him to put up big numbers he will need to see a touchdown if he doesn't see his target share go up. He is questionable with a groin injury, though. Rashaad Penny is coming off IR, but don't fall into the trap. He needs to remain on your bench even if Collins is a no-go. The Saints’ run defense has been electric this season, so I wouldn't expect much production from him, especially with how fragile he has shown to be throughout his career.

DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are both WR2/WR3 options this week. Geno really caps their upside, but Metcalf is my favorite of the two players. Gerald Everett is an emergency start for me, while Will Dissly is someone I'm keeping on my bench.

Jason Meyers has been mediocre this season and is a streaming option at best this week. The Seahawks D/ST isn't what they once were. For that reason, they shouldn't come off your bench.
