Monday Night Insight Week 16 - 2021 Fantasy Football

Miami Dolphins vs. New Orleans Saints

December 27th, 2021 at 8:15PM EST

Dolphins Fantasy Insight

Tua Tagovailoa is the QB20 in points per game for quarterbacks this season averaging 17.7 points. He’s got all his weapons back and healthy. I expect him to finish as a high-end QB2 with upside. I’d try to avoid him in 1QB leagues, but he’s a must start in Superflex formats.

Myles Gaskin and Duke Johnson look to lead Miami’s backfield. If I’m in the top four of my fantasy playoffs, I want nothing to do with either of these guys because we really don’t know what to expect when it comes to their workload. Avoid both if possible, but they are both solid emergency start options.

Jaylen Waddle will be back this week after being on the Covid list previously. He should have a great game with WR1 numbers and will be heavily targeted. I expect double digit targets and receptions from him in Week 16. DeVante Parker is a low-end WR2 with some upside to surpass that. His floor is as low as a WR4. Mike Gesicki is coming off an eight target game where he finished with five receptions for 43 yards. This was a game without Waddle in it, but I do think he’ll get around 10 points again this week.

Start the eighth overall Dolphins D/ST against the Saints fourth string rookie quarterback in Ian Book. Their offense will struggle on Monday night. Sit kicker Jason Sanders unless you need a streamer.

Saints Fantasy Insight

Ian Book will be the starter on Monday, and the rookie out of Notre Dame isn’t someone I want any part of. You can’t trust a rookie in their first start in your fantasy football semi-finals. Sit him or leave him on the waivers in all league formats.

Alvin Kamara is the only Saints running back I’m starting this week. With a rookie quarterback, I expect Kamara to have a huge game. He’ll see a ton of work on the ground assuming they won’t trust Book to throw the ball 40 times in this game. Kamara should also get a lot of check down passes. He’ll be a safe option the rookie will look to all game. I project Kamara to finish as a top eight running back in Week 16.

The Saints pass catching options are Marquez Callaway, Tre’Quan Smith, Juwan Johnson and Adam Trautman. Ian Book is throwing them the football. Sit them all.

Sit the Saints D/ST and kicker Brett Maher.
