Thursday Night Insight Week 9 - 2021 Fantasy Football

New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts

November 4th, 2021 at 8:20PM EST

Jets Fantasy Insight

Mike White is coming off a career game in his first NFL start. After putting up over 400 yards, I’d be surprised if he put up half that this week against Indy. He’s someone I’m all about taking a chance on in waivers and adding to my team, but he’s absolutely not someone I want to start in my lineups.

Michael Carter has been killing it in fantasy and is currently ranked 20th out of all running backs. Last game he saw 14 targets. Mike White is the check-king which makes Carter a RB2 in Week 9. I love the upside he brings, and I expect them to be down early to the Colts which means there will be a lot of pass attempts. This will also play into Ty Johnson’s favor as he becomes an emergency start option.

From what I expect from Mike White, I would sit all Jets wide receivers, including Corey Davis, Jamison Crowder, Elijah Moore, Keelan Cole, Braxton Berrios and Denzel Mims. If I needed an emergency start, the only two I’d be willing to play are Davis and Crowder. Tight end Tyler Kroft is also a player to sit.

Sit kicker Matt Amendola and the Jets D/ST. I’m not too bullish on the Jets in Week 9, so I’m steering clear of players not named Michael Carter.

Colts Fantasy Insight

Carson Wentz is currently the QB12, but with this favorable matchup, he’s someone I don’t mind starting this week. Preferably, he’s just a streaming option for you as you’d want a better option to start week to week.

Jonathan Taylor is a must start despite the matchup. There’s not much more to be said there. Nyheim Hines is another emergency starter here against the Jets. I never feel confident putting him in the flex, but the random boom weeks are possible.

Michael Pittman is a very trustworthy option and is a WR2 with WR1 upside play. Zach Pascal is actually a strong flex play this week. He’s been seeing a very solid target share, and with Parris Campbell out, he’s stepped up. Pascal is an underrated fantasy player. Mo Alie-Cox and Jack Doyle are both players I want to leave on my bench or waiver wire.

Opposite of the Jets kicker and D/ST, I believe you should start both Michael Badgley and the Colts D/ST. The Colts D/ST could be the top scoring defense this week.
