Thursday Night Insight Week 6 - 2021 Fantasy Football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Buccaneers Fantasy Insight

Tom Brady is having one of the best seasons of his career in year 22. The 44 year old is currently the QB2 through the first five weeks. He’s going to put up massive numbers against the Eagles and may just finish as the QB1 in Week 6.

The running back situation was a question mark coming into the year, but it seems to have played itself out. Leonard Fournette is the main guy there, and is the RB22 coming off back-to-back solid performances. He’ll continue that trend against Philadelphia, so start him with confidence as a solid RB2 for your fantasy team. Ronald Jones has become an afterthought in fantasy unless an injury occurs. Giovani Bernard is the main pass catching back for Tampa, and he has flex appeal if your team has suffered with the running back injury bug.

All three wideouts in Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown have WR1 upside this week. Expecting Brady goes off this week, these guys are going to feast. Rob Gronkowski has been ruled out again this week. Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard won’t see much work, so Tom will feed the big three wide receivers heavily.

The Buccaneers will find the endzone most of the time they march down to the redzone. Therefore, Ryan Succop will most likely be kicking extra points instead of field goals. The Bucs D/ST is currently ranked 7th overall and should have no problems shutting down the Eagles offense.

Eagles Fantasy Insight

Last week the Eagles struggled heavily against the Panthers until the 4th quarter when they came to life and pulled out a win. Jalen Hurts had a very rough day, though he did pull out some last second fantasy points to be relevant. He’s the QB7 on the year and will face one of his toughest challenges of the year in Week 6. He’s still a must start due to his rushing ability, so start Hurts but limit your expectations.

Believe it or not, but Kenneth Gainwell (RB31) has outscored Miles Sanders (RB35) so far this season. Neither of them are players I’d be excited to start, but both are low-end flex options this week against a very strong Bucs run defense.

DeVonta Smith has been pretty inconsistent so far, but he’s a strong flex play this week as the Bucs secondary is depleted. Jalen Reagor and Quez Watkins are both sits for me. With Dallas Goedert on Covid-IR, Zach Ertz should get a solid target share. He’s someone worth streaming this week. I have George Kittle on one roster and Ertz will be my starter in Week 6.

Do not start the Eagles D/ST this week because I think they’ll put up negative points this week. Jake Elliott is also someone I’m benching. The Eagles offense won’t be likely to find a rhythm on Thursday night.
